This work was created from a photo Laura captured whilst travelling in Iceland. She was inspired by the juxtaposition of the rugged landscape against the gentle nature of the Icelandic horses. Laura was moved by the way these horses have been treated throughout history; they were legally protected in Iceland’s first book of laws and still are a proud feature of Icelandic culture.
